1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains how Mechanics4U collects, uses and protects your personal information when you use our marketplace connecting customers, repair professionals and parts sellers in Pakistan. By using the Platform, you consent to the practices described here.
2. Data we collect
We collect information you provide directly — such as your name, phone number, email, location, the details of the item to be repaired and, for professionals and sellers, identity and business verification documents. We also collect usage data such as bookings, messages, reviews, device information and approximate location to match you with nearby providers.
3. How we use your data
We use your data to create and manage your account, match you with professionals or customers, process bookings and payments in PKR, run professional and parts verification, prevent fraud, resolve disputes, provide support, and improve and personalise the Platform.
4. Sharing your data
When you make a booking we share the details necessary to complete it — for example, your name, location and the details of the job with the assigned professional, or order details with a parts seller. We also share data with payment processors and service providers that operate the Platform on our behalf, and with authorities where required by Pakistani law. We do not sell your personal data.
5. Data security
We protect your data using encryption in transit and at rest, access controls and a zero-trust approach to our systems. Escrow payment details and verification documents are handled with additional safeguards. No system is perfectly secure, so we encourage you to keep your account credentials confidential.
6. Data retention
We retain your information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Platform, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes and enforce our agreements. You may request deletion of your account, subject to records we are required to keep.
